Colonial Dames 17th Century hold Grave Marking ceremony for Hilda Lou Formby

PICAYUNE — The Colonial Dames 17th Century held a Grave Marking ceremony in honor of Mrs. Hilda Lou Formby Hoffman on Tuesday, March 15, at the New Palestine Cemetery.
Hoffman was the beloved wife of Emile James Hoffman. She was the daughter of Lourie Negbert Formby and Bertha Adelia Stockstill Formby. Hoffman passed away July 4, 2010.
Hoffman was one of the charter members of Picayune Colonial Dames Chapter Number 29. She resigned in 1977, but continued to pursue her genealogy research and shared her knowledge with the community.
The Colonial Dames were joined by friends and family of Hilda Hoffman, who shared moments of remembrance of her. Hoffman’s three sisters were in attendance.
Following the ceremony, those in attendance were invited to the home of Mrs. Patricia Formby for a reception.
